An energy-efficient home can help you save 20% to 40% off your energy bills!
Over 65% of US homes are currently under-insulated, not insulated and/or leaking an excessive amount of air and energy. If yours is one of those homes, you are wasting energy by leaking warm air in the winter and cold air in the summer.
Your meeting with your personal home energy efficiency advisor may result in a free or reduced-cost energy audit - which can help you save energy and money and enjoy more comfort and peace of mind.
Our BPI-accredited home performance contractor will take a "whole-house" approach when testing your home and identifying necessary energy efficiency improvements. This comprehensive energy audit, which generally lasts one to three hours, provides you with valuable information regarding the existing condition of your home, and identifies areas where energy efficiency, comfort and safety improvements can be made. These improvements might include but are not limited to:
- Air sealing
- Cooling system
- Distribution system
- Duct sealing
- Energy-efficient appliances
- Energy-efficient lighting
- Exterior doors
- Heating system
- Insulation: attic, wall, floor, basement, crawl space
- Storm windows and storm doors
- Water heaters
- Window insulation
Your personal home energy efficiency advisor will help you secure up to $25,000 in low-interest loans for these energy-efficiency projects.* You may also qualify for additional rebates or tax incentives for your home improvement.
*Qualifying upgrades only, subject to change
Your savings will continue year after year
Through monthly financing, you'll be able to spread out the costs of your energy-efficient home improvements for years. And, in many cases, your energy savings will pay for your monthly financing for your repair.
Who will make these energy-saving repairs?
All "building envelope" upgrades - including air sealing, duct sealing, exterior doors, insulation, storm windows and doors, and window insulation - will be handled by EnergySmart Long Island trusted partners. All "mechanical/heating-cooling system" upgrades - such as your cooling, distribution, heating and hot water systems - will be handled by OHILI member companies, trusted Oilheat dealers in your community (perhaps even your own).
